Dr Robert Turnbull

The principal sedationist and founder of Sydney Dental Sedations is Dr Robert Turnbull. Doing Dental Sedation for 15 years, in Hospital and Private Practice, in-house and visiting. His goal is to ensure that all patients have access to safe, stress free, quality dentistry, and that pain, fear, phobia or anxiety should not interfere with excellent dental care.
As a fully endorsed Dental Sedationist, he undergoes annual re-endorsement training in the management of Medical Emergencies.
He is on the council of The Australian Society of Dental Anaesthesiology, responsible for managing the Annual Scientific Meeting and Emergency Management Training provided by the Society. He also teaches IV Sedation, Medical Emergency Management, Anxiety and Pain Management, Nitrous Oxide Relative Analgesia to Dental Undergraduate and Post-Graduate students in the IV sedation department of the University of Sydney.
Dr Turnbull graduated from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours and the Pierre Fauchard Academy Dean’s Prize for Excellence in 1998. He had 9 years experience as an Royal Australian Air Force Dental Officer and 6 years as a General Dentist in Private Practice – so he knows exactly what your Dentist needs to provide the best in Dental Care.
Dr Emily Dong
BDS(Otago), Grad.Dip.Clin.Dent.(Conscoius Sedation & Pain Control)Syd
Dr Emily Dong completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Otago (New Zealand) in 1999. She completed the Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Intravenous Sedation and Pain Control), from the University of Sydney in 2013. Emily speaks Mandarin in addition to English.
She has been working with Sydney Dental Sedations for many years and is well known for competence and caring attitude in the many practices she visits.
Dr Archi Shah
BDS, ADC, Grad.Dip.Clin.Dent.(Conscious Sedation & Pain Control)Syd
Dr Archi K Shah speaks Gujarati and Hindi (as well as English).
Dr Archi Shah graduated as a Dental Surgeon in 2011.
She loves all aspects of dentistry but is particularly interested in sedation dentistry to minimize stress, pain and anxiety related to dentistry for her patients.
She is especially recognized for making her patients extremely comfortable. She finds it extremely rewarding when she is able to help someone face their fears and overcome them. Dr Archi Shah has worked in Mauritius, rural NSW and Sydney. She has a very gentle, caring and polite personality to ensure a pleasant experience for all her patients.
She is an active member of the Australian Dental Association and Australian Society of Dental Anaesthesiology. She keeps up to date with her knowledge, skills and performance by attending professional seminars and workshops.
While she worked in Mauritius, she had the opportunity to explore, become an advanced scuba diver and fell in love with underwater photography.
Dr Emma Black

Dr Emma Black is an experienced and friendly dentist, still practising dentistry in addition to sedation. She is known for her kind and caring nature and will help you through your sedation experience with a calm, sure hand.
Dr Jaime Maung

Dr Jaime Maung graduated with a Bachelor of Dentistry (Hons) degree in 2005 from the University of Sydney. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology (Hons) degree from University of Technology, Sydney. Since graduating, Jaime has been working at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health (aka Westmead Dental Hospital), currently working in general dentistry, teaching dental students and working with refugees. Jaime also has worked in many regional and rural clinics as part of her dental experience including Moruya, Narooma, Lismore (Goonellabah), Dubbo, Broken Hill, Lithgow and Katoomba, as well as overseas in Chiang Mai, Thailand in collaboration with Rotary International.
Outside of dentistry Jaime is a busy mother of two and enjoys spending time with her family. Jaime is originally from Myanmar (Burma), but she calls Australia home as she has lived here for most of her life. She has also spent a lot of her childhood in many countries including Malaysia, Bangladesh, Kiribati (Gilbert Islands), USA and Thailand.

Patient Coordinators
Regan and Kirsty liaise with Dental Practices to set-up sedation support, make bookings for Sedation Patients.
As the first point of contact for most patients they will go thorough the sedation assessment, instructions and consent.
If there are any questions they cannot answer, they will contact your sedationist to answer them for you.
